Looking for the ultimate property expert? Look no further than David, the man with property in his blood! As the great-great grandson of the founder of the former Beresford Adams Estate Agency, David’s roots run deep. David’s career in the industry started at just 15 years old, when he worked as a Saturday boy for the Cavendish Group.
After completing his higher education, he joined the sales team as a negotiator and quickly made a name for himself as a rising star. In 2010, David made the move to the lettings team, where he continued to excel and demonstrate his natural talent for the business. His hard work and dedication paid off in 2017, when he was asked to join the board of directors. In 2022, he took over Managing Director and now oversees the whole business with Nicola Blake. David is known for working closely with the front of house offices to generate new business for the firm, and he is particularly skilled at heading up the valuations team. With his extensive knowledge and experience in the industry, David is the go-to guy for all your property needs.
Out of work, David enjoys pushing himself to the limit by cycling up mountains on his road bike and walking his Labradoodle, Gordon.
A fourth generation estate agent, Julian Adams and his fellow partners founded Cavendish Residential in 1993.
Customer service has always been top of the agenda and Julian is rightly proud of the Cavendish brand being recognised as the forefront of the estate agency industry.
Julian is a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents and of the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers and a Member of the Association of Residential Lettings Agents.
Hugh Evans BSc, MRICS, FNAEA, MARLA – is a chartered surveyor who has been practising in North East Wales and particularly the Vale of Clwyd for over 40 years where he is highly regarded for his wealth of experience.
Hugh joined the partnership in 1998 and deals with all aspects of residential sales mostly in the very bust Mold and Ruthin branches. A native of Mold, Hugh and his family have lived in Ruthin for the last 36 years.
He is a keen walker and enjoys rambling throughout Eryri National Park & The Berwyns.
Nicola has been part of the Cavendish Group since 2001 (yes we know, she doesn’t look old enough!)
Over the years she has gained a vast amount of experience in Lettings, and in 2012 was one of the first in the country to pass the Level Four Certificate in Residential Lettings and Property Management, entitling her to become a Fellow of ARLA Propertymark. in 2022, Nicola was invited to join the board of directors as Operations Director and oversees the running of our Chester and Mold Lettings Branches, keeping us all up to date with the ever changing legislation in the industry. Outside of work, Nicola is keeps busy looking after her daughter Lauren, and their pet Jack Russell Lenny!
Phil Shakeshaft began his estate agency career in 1996 after successfully attaining a Geography degree at Sheffield University. He worked as a Valuer for both a corporate and another independent estate agent in Chester until taking a year out to travel the world before joining Cavendish in 2004.
Phil brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team and through his hard work and determination, was made a Partner in 2005. He is a qualified member of the National Association of Estate Agents.
He is local to Chester and loves his job and the great city in which he lives and works. In his spare time Phil plays football, enjoys foreign travel and is kept busy with two active children and all of their interests.
Mandy moved to the area eight years ago and has spent seven of those years here at Cavendish Estate Agents.
With a history of customer facing roles and many years in the property industry, Mandy is an asset to our highly experienced Mold team.
When not in the office, Mandy can be found either soaking up the sun in a foreign country or in a muddy field with her horse and her crazy Sproodle, Spencer!
Maria Brown, a local girl born and bred who has never strayed far from her roots, joined Cavendish in early 2015 when we opened our new Hawarden Office.
She has a wealth of local knowledge, particularly around the Hawarden area and it surrounds and has a very keen interest in property. Calm under pressure with a quick sense of humour, she and Sara head up the Hawarden team together.
When out of the office she is likely to be found in her wellies milking cows on the family dairy farm or roaming the fields with her dogs.
Luned Jones is a fluent Welsh speaker and joined Cavendish in 2000 to help set up the newly opened Ruthin office. She has thoroughly enjoyed the last 22 years and is now the senior sales negotiator at the branch where she also ensures the smooth running of the office.
Luned has been a member of the NAEA for several years and originating from Ruthin, she has extensive knowledge of the area and is well known in the town for her friendly outgoing personality.
Luned enjoys a very busy social life outside of work and likes to travel overseas with family and friends as much as possible.

Daniel joined the team back in 2017 after relocating from North Wales, but now considers Chester a home. Daniel has over 13 years’ experience in Residential Lettings and Property Management having being ARLA qualified throughout that duration, and has even dabbled in Residential Sales having previously obtained NAEA status. On a day-to-day basis Daniel will be found either in the office negotiating lets and attends to your viewing requests, otherwise out on the road listing properties.
Out of work, Daniel enjoys spending quality time with his family, he likes to keep physically active with the weekly game of football.
Paul joined Cavendish Rentals in 2005 and is solely responsible for managing the Client Account on a day to day basis. Paul ensures that landlords are paid promptly and pays daily once funds are cleared. He is also responsible for paying contractors and for issuing statements of account to landlords for their annual tax returns. Prior to joining Cavendish Rentals, Paul spent many years gaining valuable experience as a Client Account team leader in a local independent travel agency.
In his spare time Paul enjoys spending time with his family and training for and competing in marathons.
Sophie joined Cavendish Rentals in September 2022 and hit the ground running. Her experience in her role so far has inspired her to enrol on a Level 3 ARLA PropertyMark course. Sophie grew up in North Wales and has a wealth of knowledge on the local area. Sophie has a passion for helping Landlords let their properties, and helping Tenants find their new homes. The quality of her work is demonstrated consistently in the feedback we receive from both our Landlords & Tenants.

When Annie joined Cavendish Rentals in March 2023 she brought to the team a wealth of experience & knowledge, with particular emphasis on compliance & legislation.
With 10 years Lettings experience, Annie has a passion for assisting Landlords to ensure their properties are compliant, whilst maximising their profits.
Her membership to ARLA enables her stay update with legislative changes, and to work to a higher standard than the law demands.
Annie enjoys local networking activities and attending developmental courses/conferences to broaden her knowledge.
Outside of work, Annie enjoys spending time with her family & friends, her dog Luna, and also volunteers for several organisations in the local community.

Clive Joined Cavendish Rentals in March 2023 in a newly created post. His career in the Accounts and Admin roles spans more than 30 years whist serving in the Royal Air Force, both in the UK and Overseas, before returning to Wrexham in December 2022. Clive is responsible for ensuring that landlords are paid promptly, paying contractors and for issuing statements of account to landlords for their annual tax returns.
Outside of work, Clive enjoys travelling with family, cycling around the local routes, and supporting his beloved Wrexham AFC.
Amy is a dedicated Tenancy Manager with five years of experience in the property industry including residential lettings and sales. Passionate about helping others and building rapports with her clients. Amy is results-driven and focused on delivering excellent service to both tenants and landlords. Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, attending social events and staying active.
Liberty is one of our property inspectors, with previous experience working in property block management and now residential lettings. Liberty uses her exceptional customer service skills to provide property inspections allowing tenants to feel comfortable and landlords to feel looked after by providing excellent property condition reports. In her free time, Liberty enjoys walking her dog, reading and visiting the gym. Having worked in the property sector for 4 years previously, she is always striving to provide the best service and to uphold the standards strived for by Cavendish Rentals.
Harvey Salt
With a degree in International Travel and Tourism and over 7 years of customer service experience, Ellie brings a warm, people-first approach to everything she does. Passionate about creating meaningful connections and delivering outstanding service, she thrives in dynamic environments where communication and teamwork matter most. Now part of the Cavendish sales team, Ellie is excited to bring her enthusiasm and dedication to a new challenge. Outside of work, she enjoys quality time with family and friends, finding balance between her professional and personal life.
Gracie joined the Cavendish team in 2025, bringing with her a wealth of experience in both the property industry and the local area. Having started her career in rentals before progressing to become a valuer in 2024, she has a well-rounded understanding of the moving process and thrives on helping people—whether that’s providing an accurate market appraisal or supporting them in finding their next home.
Passionate about delivering a personal and supportive service, Gracie prides herself on making the journey as smooth as possible for every client.
Outside of work, she loves nothing more than spending time outdoors, adventuring with her partner and their four dogs
With over eight years of experience in property management, I am a dynamic and dedicated professional known for consistently going above and beyond expectations. I approach every task with commitment and attention to detail, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standard.
My background includes streamlining projects and office operations in fast-paced environments, maintaining strong organisational structures, and reliably meeting tight deadlines. I excel at prioritising tasks, building strong client relationships, and ensuring that all objectives and requirements are achieved seamlessly.
I am excited to step into my new role as a Repairs & Tenancy Administrator at Cavendish, where I look forward to contributing meaningfully and continuing to grow within the company.
Outside of work, I enjoy photography, gardening, hiking, visiting markets, and most importantly, spending quality time with my family and my beloved Jack Russell, whose name is Meerkat, who keeps life fun and full of cuddles.
